The Blues have confirmed that young Arsenal goalkeeper Joao Virginia has joined the club in the latest nod to the future.
The 18-year-old will, of course, not be in the first team straightaway with the likes of Jordan Pickford and Maarten Stekelenburg around but it seems safe to say that he’ll be able to learn a great deal for them.
Indeed, he obviously has talent as he played for both Arsenal’s U19 and U23 side last season so it’s clear that they thought pretty highly of him down there.
He gets the chance to shine for our youth teams now, though, and hopefully, he’ll see the way young players can feature for our side and that will inspire him.
He appears to have had a pretty decent start to his career as a goalkeeper for sure and now it’s up to him to make the most of his opportunity in one of the best youth sides around.
