Everton-bound €40m man linked with title-chasing overseas outfit – report

Henry Onyekuru was thought to finally be on his way to Everton, but Fanatik has again linked the Nigerian winger with another loan move to Galatasaray.

The Turkish publication have claimed that Galatasaray manager Faith Terim is looking into the possibilities of retaining the 21-year-old for next season, as our man has been increasingly vital to Aslanlar’s Super Lig title aspirations.

At present, the Turk Telekom Arena natives hold a slender advantage at the top of the Super Lig table, with goal difference the only thing separating them from second-placed Istanbul Basaksehir after beating fellow city rivals Besiktas 2-0 on Sunday with Onyekuru opening the scoring.

Onyekuru had been forced to move to the TT Arena this season on loan after he was rejected for a UK work permit for the second time following his 2017 switch from KAS Eupen.

Terim is now hopeful that Onyekuru will once again be rejected for a UK work permit, and will do all he and his side can to secure the 9-cap international’s services again – the forward has scored 15 goals and assisted four this term.

Galatasaray representatives will also travel to England in the coming days to hold talks with Everton once the season is over, as they seek to know whether or not the player will be available for another temporary deal.

Competition for his services will be fraught, should we look to move Onyekuru on in the summer, however, as several European sides had scouted the skilful winger when he opened the scoring for Galatasaray against Fenerbahce last month.

Bayern Munich have also been linked with a €40million (£34.4m) move for the 5 ft 7 attacker, but did not attend the 1-1 draw.
