Everton are linked with a number of pieces of business during the January transfer window and it seems that one potential deal is being pushed by a Premier League rival.

Speaking ahead of the clash with Southampton, Marco Silva has confirmed to The Daily Mail that Cardiff City are heavily interested in bringing nine-cap Senegal international Oumar Niasse to the Welsh side in the final weeks of the January window.

“Strong interest coming from Cardiff. But nothing is done yet. We have to wait to see if the teams go this way or not but I can tell you the interest is strong.”

Niasse, who has appeared in just five Premier League matches for the Toffees this season, moved on loan last season to relegated Hull City, scoring four goals in 17 appearances, and has been identified by Neil Warnock’s side as a candidate to help Cardiff’s quest to remain in the top-flight.

The two clubs have just under two weeks to negotiate a deal before the window shuts but it seems there is a strong of a deal being completed.
