French outlet Le 10 sport is reporting that the Blues are well in the chase for midfielder Steven Nzonzi.

The 29-year-old has played at the top level for a fair few years now.

We, of course, remember him from his days with Blackburn Rovers in the top flight where he became a real enforcer in the middle of the park.

Since, he’s played for Sevilla in the Champions League and played for France, highlighting his obvious quality at the top level.

Apparently, then, we’re keen but the likes of Arsenal are also rumoured to be interested in the powerful midfielder.

The Verdict

Nzonzi would be a fine arrival for us and one I’d certainly like to see come in.

We’ve got a lot of central players at the moment but probably still need to add a bit more steel and bite in the middle of the park.

Nzonzi would provide that in abundance.
