Paul Tait’s Everton U21 side today beat European Giants’ Paris Saint-Germain’s academy 2-1 in their third PL International Cup game, making their record in the cup 3 wins in 3 so far.

The blues were held to a disappointing result in their last outing, losing 3-1 to Arsenal despite putting in a decent performance.

Although their form in the PL2 has been quite up and down as of late, their form in the PL International Cup has been exceptional, sitting top of their group table after two fixtures, beating FC Braga 5-0 and Hertha Berlin 4-1 in their two fixtures.

PSG, on the other hand, did not have a very good start to their PL International Cup campaign, losing 7-3 to Crystal Palace during their trip to London.

The game did not start well for the toffees, however, with PSG taking an early lead through midfielder, IsmaëlGharbi inside 20 minutes.

Everton would respond well to going behind, carving themselves a couple of good chances, before in-form striker, Tom Cannon would convert from Stanley Mills’ cross in the 34th minute.

The blues would take the lead 10 minutes later, with Stanley Mills being clipped in the PSG penalty area and Tom Cannon converting from the penalty spot for his second goal of the game.

Despite Mills and Cannon being substituted around the hour mark, Everton continued their dominant performance over the French giants, making the 2-1 scoreline flatter the away side in the end.

The toffee’s next PL International Cup game is against Dynamo Zagreb U21s in December, looking to keep their winning run going in what has been an already successful tournament.
