A strong Everton side dominated large parts of the game and perhaps would of won it, had sloppy defending not meant they were put behind twice.

David Moyes’s men enjoyed the lions share of possesion and if Phil Neville hadn’t had all of our shots we may of won by a large margain. Our German counterparts will however be pleased how they stood up to some creative play.

Everton were however as one-dimensional as ever and everything had to go through Mikel Arteta (MOM) mainly due to a central midfield pairing of Carsley and Neville.

Everton went behind early in the second half, but James Mcfaddens strike brought the blues back level, slotting home after an Arteta cross played ping pong in the Germans area.

Everton once again fell behind but substitute Anderson scored in the dying stages to make it 2-2. This was his first goal for the blues which capped a composed performance from the bench.

Leon Osman and Andy Johnson both impressed also in the second half causing the static German defence problems.

The same can not be said of Nuno Valente who capped a miserable performance with a cross which went out the stadium with virtually the last kick.
