European source suggests Everton are in for €40m-valued creative force

|

Over the weekend, Italian outlet Calciomercato reported that Everton have got an interest in AS Roma star Lorenzo Pellegrini with the 23-year-old potentially a player we could sign in the transfer window in the summer.

Of course, it remains to be seen if the window opens up on time but eventually it will be ready for business and Blues fans are likely going to be excited about what the market could bring.

It’ll be the first summer transfer market that Carlo Ancelotti has in charge of the club and with the money the Blues now have to spend, it could be intriguing to see how he looks to mould the squad.

Pellegrini, then, is one player getting linked with a switch to Merseyside in the summer and it might be no surprise that he’s based in Serie A, given the Toffees manager’s obvious links to the country and league.

A midfielder that has played for the Italian national team, first impressions are fairly promising.

Indeed, his stats are quite good, too. He’s scored once in the league but, most exciting, is the fact that he has set nine up in the league – stats according to TransferMarkt.

Clearly, he is a player of considerable creative talent and, that said, his market value reflects that.

Again, according to TransferMarkt, he is valued at 40m which would be some outlay but, that in mind, it’s a figure that the Blues have been willing to pay before and with the market the way it is now, it’s probably one they’ll have to accept paying again.
