While much of our attention has been channelled on looking ahead to our first summer signing, it’s likely that we’ll have to contend with a few departures too. Supposedly, RB Leipzig are preparing a third bid for Ademola Lookman.
According to the Independent, we’re bracing ourselves for a third bid from Leipzig for the services of Ademola Lookman. It’s reported that we’re insistent on a £20M fee to allow the promising Englishman to join the German club. However, their offers have been short of our established evaluation.
The highest bid has been £14M with add-ons, but it’s anticipated that the third bid will be closer to our evaluation.
Here’s how Everton supporters have responded to the latest news on Twitter.
If Lookman's true talent level is close to what he showed at Leipzig, the gap between him and Malcom isn't nearly large enough to where I'd feel comfortable losing Lookman to acquire Malcom, especially for Everton who should be trying to acquire lots of young talents in general https://t.co/vOicR4jhTI

My take on Lookman is if he wants to go then sell him. If he wants to stay keep him. I've never been in favour of keeping anyone who expresses a desire to leave Everton.

People love a good moan. I'd like lookman to stay as much as the next man. But he hasn't done enough for Everton to warrant the praise he gets.

I've been pessimistic and extremely patient with Everton so far in pre-season but if we let Lookman go we may as well just throw the towel in.

I could name 10 players we should sell before Lookman.
We have zero pace upfront and the one outlet we do have, we have put a price tag on.
Who is running our club and making these decisions?

Verdict:
Lookman is exceptionally talented, and he has the potential to develop into a truly outstanding player. I’d be bitterly disappointed if we were to lose a player of his promise.
