A few Everton fans have been reacting on social media after WhoScored recognised Richarlison as being one of the top tackling forwards in Europe.
The football statistics company have compiled a line-up of the 11 players that have recorded the most tackles in their position this season across Europe’s top-five leagues, with the combined figure standing at 809.
Richarlison has registered 59 successful tackles over his outings in the Premier League this term, which is enough for the 5 ft 10 Brazilian to rank second among all Everton players.
His efforts at taking the ball from opposing players is only marginally worse than Olympique de Marseille defender Boubacar Kamara, as the Frenchman has won 67 of his tackles in Ligue 1 this season to warrant the second centre-back slot.
Richarlison has amassed his 59 successful tackles from 85 attempts, while also defending from the front with 10 interceptions and blocking 24 passes.
A few Everton fans have reacted to WhoScored’s acknowledgement of Richarlison’s defensive contribution by referencing Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino, as the Brazilian has been hailed as the ‘perfect striker’ for his efforts in the past.
Firmino has registered 29 successful tackles from 58 attempts in the Premier League this season, along with five interceptions and blocked 26 passes.
Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to WhoScored’s ‘most tackles XI’…
The only thing Firmino had going for him was tackles and now Richy even outdoes him on that. 🤣 https://t.co/JrOfCX7sG5

In other Everton news, the club will be made to pay for our failed January swoop should Carlo Ancelotti return for a 41-cap man.
