‘Do it’ – These Everton fans are all saying the same thing about star’s teasing Twitter message

Andre Gomes has Everton fans talking again, and the Portuguese midfielder has not kicked a ball in anger since his cameo appearance in the Merseyside Derby.

Ahead of the Toffees’ trip to Newcastle on Saturday, the 6 foot 1 on-loan Marco Silva man posted a teasing image on his Twitter page, simply captioned: “I see you! @Everton”.

With his future at the club very much in the air, a lot of the Everton fans in the replies were sharing hope that it was a mere suggestion he will be staying on Merseyside beyond the end of the season.

Reports in Spain have been spreading rumours of late that Barcelona are keen to cash in on the 29-cap international, with Marca suggesting the La Liga giants have slapped a €40million price tag on their outcasted midfielder.

A price tag as steep as that could give Marcel Brands more than enough reason to opt against flying out to Catalunya to thrash out a deal, as Mundo Deportivo have claimed.

Another reason not to make a move would be that Gomes has actually had very little impact on results in his 23 appearances, despite playing the fifth most accurate passes of any Everton ace.

When Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson are on form, that can be forgiven though, and there are plenty of supporters who hope Gomes’ teasing tweet is an indicator that he will be at Goodison Park next term…
