“Disaster waiting to happen” – Some Everton fans react as ex-Blue urges club to sign £20m star

Some Everton fans have been reacting on social media after former Blue Alan Stubbs urged the club to sign Rangers star Alfredo Morelos.

Morelos has been in terrific form north of the border this season, as the Colombian has struck 22 goals in 26 games across all competitions, including nine in 12 Premiership outings.

We, on the other hand, have struggled to find the back of the net thus far this term, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison’s three goals apiece enough for the pair to top the Toffees’ Premier League goal chart.

Summer signing Moise Kean is also yet to open his top-flight account since joining us from Juventus for £27.5million, with the Italian failing to score with any of his nine shots recorded – of which only one has been on target.

Our need to add goals to Marco Silva’s squad has seen Stubbs urge the board to target Morelos while appearing on the Ladbrokes Social Club.

“I think the biggest thing for me this season is that the fact that he is spending more time on the pitch,” Stubbs said. “He is growing up as an individual. In the early part, he was a bit immature.

“I think he has got a big move [in him]. He is getting better and better each week – he can play in the Premier League, no problem.

“He has been linked with Crystal Palace but for me, Everton are crying out for a striker [of his calibre]. I think he is a top ten [sides in the Premier League] striker.”

Should Everton sign Morelos?

Absolutely, we need goals

No, he isn't good enough

Morelos was recently linked with a move to Aston Villa although The Athletic (via Express) have since rubbished the claims, stating that the Birmingham-based outfit will not sign the £20m Crystal Palace target.
