Icelandic international Gylfi Sigurdsson clearly stole the show for Everton as we hosted Fulham at Goodison Park last weekend for our latest Premier League clash.

A 3-0 victory with the 29-year-old helping himself to a brace on the day certainly saw him take the headlines following the game, especially as he wasted an opportunity from the penalty spot as well, but a number of fans are hopeful that the second half showing, in particular, will see the side click properly moving forward.

Tonight offers us a chance to see if that confidence boost from a largely comfortable victory in the end, and a clean sheet, has had any effect on the group as we face Southampton in the EFL Cup, but Sigurdsson certainly took the praise for his Fulham efforts from fans on social media.

He’s definitely capable of being a match winner for us and we’ve seen it at points previously, but if he can really add some consistency to his game now we will undoubtedly benefit and he should be capable of helping to drag the performance levels of others up as well.
