Everton suffered a heartbreaking defeat against Liverpool in Sunday’s Merseyside derby, where Divock Origi scored the only goal of the game in the dying moments after Jordan Pickford’s error.
The result was only the second defeat the Toffees have suffered in their past eight Premier League matches and Marco Silva’s side have the opportunity to quickly bounce back when they host Newcastle United at Goodison Park tomorrow evening.
Everton’s clash with the Magpies is even more important considering their December schedule includes difficult tests against Manchester City and Tottenham, so it is important that maximum points are taken on Wednesday.
One player who the fans are confident will put in another superb performance is full-back Lucas Digne, who has quickly settled on Merseyside after arriving from Barcelona in the summer as one of Marco Silva’s defensive additions.
The France international was impressive against Liverpool despite the defeat and took to social media to indicate he was already looking ahead to the clash against Newcastle, which allowed many fans to fire further praise in his direction.

Having you makes it less hard knowing Baines won't be around much longer, couldn't think of a better replacement

Best compliment I can give digne is that you don’t notice his performance as he’s that consistent. Solid 8/10 every week

I felt sorry and worried for the player who was replacing Baines. But wow, not worried now. Class act.
