If we can’t sign a Chelsea striker, how about one that used to play for Chelsea?

As we’ve said before it seems that Roberto Martinez is desperate to land a Chelsea striker this summer.

Both Romelu Lukaku and Samuel Eto’o have previously been linked by the British media, whilst Chelsea striker Demba Ba was also linked last month.

Now it’s the turn of ex Chelsea strikers with Salomon Kalou being linked with both ourselves and Liverpool in the Mirror.

The 28-year-old who is currently at Lille is apparently stalling on a potential £3million move to Roma as he would like to return to the Premier League.

Wages may well be an issue however.

Whilst he has turned down an offer of £75,000-a-week from Turkish side Galatasaray, that does give a ball-park figure on how much he could cost in wages and that amount would seem unlikely at Goodison Park.
