“Could be perfect for Moise” – Some Everton fans react to lofty praise for rumoured target

|

Some Everton fans have been reacting on social media to the lofty praise that Carlo Ancelotti has received from a range of players who have worked with the Italian in the past.

Ancelotti is currently being linked with taking charge at Goodison Park following his sacking by SSC Napoli, who parted company with the Italian after he oversaw the San Paolo natives end their nine game winless run with a victory which booked a spot in the Champions League Last 16.

We are still on the hunt for Marco Silva’s replacement after majority owner Farhad Moshiri fired the Portuguese on December 5, but could name Ancelotti as our new head coach as early as Thursday or Friday following negotiations with the 60-year-old on Monday.

Luring Ancelotti to Merseyside would bring a three-time Champions League winner to the club, who also has Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Serie A crowns in his trophy cabinet.

Can Ancelotti bring out the best of Moise Kean?

Yes

No

Ancelotti has worked with some of the greats of the game, too, having managed Hernan Crespo, Filippo Inzaghi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gennaro Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paolo Maldini, who he also played alongside.

Some Everton fans have been reacting online to previous comments made by some of those on working with Ancelotti, after a select few quotes were shared by one Toffees fan on Twitter.

Pirlo once said: “Ancelotti was like a father to me. We spent many years together. He helped me play my best football in a different, deeper position. He changed my role on the field. The times with him were indescribable.”

Maldini also noted: “People say that I was the banner for AC Milan. If that’s true, then he was the wind that made me flutter.”

Here are some of the reactions offered to the quotes shared…
