Lots of Everton fans have been reacting on social media after the club confirmed that Callum Connolly has joined Fleetwood Town on loan for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.

The 22-year-old made a further three outings from the bench across the third-tier and EFL Trophy, though penned his sole assist for the term in his Lincoln debut against Fleetwood on August 31.

He now moves to join the Fisherman and will add a versatile option to manager Joey Barton’s plans at Highbury Stadium, having been utilised as a centre-half on six occasions and a right-back once this season, along with eight outings in his more natural holding midfield role.

Connolly was cautioned three times in League One during his spell with Lincoln, having committed eleven fouls. The former England youth international was only dribbled past twice in the third-tier, though, having taken possession with eight of his ten tackles, per WhoScored data.

The Liverpool-born youngster also recorded nine interceptions, 26 clearances, nine blocks, won 16 of his 31 aerial duels, played four key balls and took five shots, of which three were fashioned outside the penalty area.
