Lots of Everton fans have been reacting on social media after the club shared that Seamus Coleman had passed his UEFA B Licence coaching badge.

Our captain was presented with the certificate by Republic of Ireland head coach Mick McCarthy earlier in the week, and is now able to take up a head coaching position of his own in amateur football, youth set-ups up to the age of 16 and serve as an assistant coach.

Coleman can also begin working toward a UEFA A Licence and UEFA Pro Licence, which would allow the 31-year-old to follow in the footsteps of former Toffees midfielder Mikel Arteta, who has recently taken charge of Arsenal following Unai Emery’s sacking at the Emirates Stadium.

The Football Association of Ireland shared their congratulations for Coleman achieving his UEFA B Licence on social media following the right-back being presented with his certificate, writing:

“Congratulations to Republic of Ireland captain Seamus Coleman on completing his UEFA B License.”

The official UEFA and Everton Twitter accounts likewise echoed their congratulations.

“Well done, Seamus,” said UEFA.

“Congratulations, Seamus,” added the Blues.

Coleman has featured in 16 of our fixtures this season across all competitions, with 11 starts from a possible 21 in the Premier League joined by two in four Carabao Cup games and one in one FA Cup ties.
