Everton manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed that Seamus Coleman has now returned to training at the club following his ten month spell out with injury.

The right back picked up the injury following a bad challenge from Neil Taylor in the Republic of Ireland v Wales World Cup qualifying clash and he came out far worse with a broken leg.

Speaking at the Everton general meeting in Liverpool on Tuesday night, Sky Sports have him saying very simply.

‘Seamus Coleman is due back. He has started training.’

You would expect at this stage it would be light training and he continues building himself up, and I wouldn’t have thought contact training.

After so long out though just being back on the pitch with the group for exercises would be a fantastic lift for him over what must have been a difficult time.

No date for a return to contention has been given yet, but it’s a step in the right direction to getting him back on the pitch.
