Everton could make their first signing of the January window in Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres after the appointment of Sean Dyche as their new manager in the next few hours, according to recent reports

The toffees have been fairly quiet during the January transfer window as of yet, with outgoings recently being the main talking points of their business.

Recent reports have confirmed that Anthony Gordon has completed his move to Newcastle United for around £45 million, meaning Everton now have significant funds to make some signings before the deadline on Tuesday evening.

The blues now need to devote the next couple of days into bringing in some players to bolster their squad, with Sean Dyche already in the manager position. But they could have already found their first target.

According to Sky Sports, Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres could become Sean Dyche’s first signing since becoming the Everton manager, with the Swede valued at around £17 million

Despite struggling on loan at Swansea in the Championship in 2020, Gyokeres has not stopped scoring since joining Coventry City from Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 24-year-old scored 17 goals and grabbed 5 assists in 45 games in the Championship last season.

However, he looks set to eclipse that this season, having already scored 12 goals in the league this season, as well as providing 4 assists.

With Neal Maupay struggling since moving to Goodison Park, this signing could be of great significance for Everton’s Premier League survival.
