Cahill All Systems Go

We’ve really missed Tim Cahill of late. The Everton team have, the Everton fans have and even my cousins who say they are being deprived of some good looking men on the field!

Tim has been using the forthcoming Asia Cup tournament, in which Austrailia are set to be involved in for the very first time, as a platform in the calendar to be fully fit by. I’d prefer him to just eradicate that from his mind and not play in it at all and get some pre-season training in and be ready for the new season all safe and sound. However, I’m not Tim Cahill – and this is what the real one says: ‘I don’t want to get ahead of myself too much, but I’m quietly confident, I’m happy,’ Cahill told The Sydney Morning Herald.

‘Before I left England, there was quite a bit of a gap between the bone and the pin [in his foot], but these X-rays show a massive improvement. If anything, the bone looks as though it’s healed over 80%.

‘So I’ll start running on Sunday. I hope to do a good 20 minutes, half an hour, so I can get the feel for it, and the biggest day will be Monday, to see how I pull up. But at the moment it feels fine, I’ve had no pain.’
