|

Everton returned to winning ways over the weekend and Lucas Digne was one of many players who came away with praise from supporters. The Toffees won 2-0 against West Ham United on Saturday to end a run four consecutive league defeats, and Digne delivered one of his better performances this season.

As per WhoScored, the 26-year-old played for 90 minutes, made 75 touches, won four aerial duels, created four chances, had one shot, completed 67.5% of his 40 passes, whipped in nine crosses, made four tackles, drew three fouls and made one interception.

Digne has made 11 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring and creating four goals. The French international has played nearly every minute of every game (973 from a possible 990) and was recently rewarded with the captain’s armband.

Before Saturday’s meeting, Everton had lost to Bournemouth (1-3), Sheffield United (0-2), Manchester City (1-3) and Burnley (0-1) but now they’ve stopped the rot and earned a clean sheet.

The Toffees now sit 14th in the Premier League table with 10 points from nine games and next face Brighton & Hove Albion on October 26.
