Blues Crushed by Real

Evertons US tour may not last very long this year, but we have still found the time to get soundly beaten by a poor American side.

2 goals in a minute saw Real cruise to victory with a dominant first half showing.

The Blues rallied after half time and Beattie missed several sitters and hasn’t score a goal from open play now in 19 months.

Anderson Da silva was one bright light however, a Zidane-esque turn taking out 3 players before setting Beattie up with an open goal, which he subsequently missed. Silvas range of passing and technique shone through the whole game and he improves in every game we play.

Alan Stubbs and Nuno Valente on the other hand should be ashamed with their performances, both were outpaced for the 2nd goal, and neither looked like they had ever seen a football before when in possession.

Everton only had 15 players out in the US after Moyes left the youngsters at home, and a few players who weren’t fully fit left as well, as long with Andy Van Der Meyde who cited ‘personal reasons’ for not travelling, rumour has it, he is scared of flying.
