Turkish outlet Aspor – via TeamTalk – has suggested that that Spurs have made a bid for Everton target Domagoj Vida.

The Blues have been linked with the Croatian defender for a while this summer with the Blues expected to sign at least one new defender this summer.

Certainly, Vida is doing his chances of a move from Besiktas no harm at all with his performances at the World Cup with him getting to the semi-finals with his country.

And, according to the Turkish press, Spurs have lodged a bid for the 29-year-old so it remains to be seen if we decide to respond in kind.

The Verdict

Honestly, I wouldn’t be too worried if we missed out on Vida if we still managed to sign a different centre-half.

He’s had a good World Cup but I’m not sure whether he’s exactly the sort of player we need to come in and boost our defence.
