Plenty of Everton fans have been applauding loanee Kieran Dowell after he scored a hat-trick during his side’s 8-0 drubbing of Hull City on Tuesday night.
The 20-year-old was on fire at the DW Stadium as his emphatic brace led to a comfortable victory for the hosts which moved the Latics further away from the relegation zone, with seven of those coming before half-time.
Dowell made the move to the second-tier side in January on loan to seek regular first-team football, with the game against the Tigers being his best in a blue and green shirt.
Should Kieran Dowell feature in the first-team next season?
Yes
No
This season, he has scored four times and provided three assists in 20 appearances for the Latics (per TransferMarkt), including an average match rating of 7.08 with 1.3 shots per game, as per Whoscored.
Unsurprisingly, supporters salivated over Dowell’s trio of strikes and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he is better than Tom Davies, while others pleaded for him to return to Merseyside and he was described as “glorious”.
