It’s being reported today that Everton midfielder Ross Barkley is finally set to make the move to Stamford Bridge and Chelsea despite having rejected their advances last summer.

The BBC reported this afternoon that the England man was set to complete a £15million move this weekend as he was having a medical at the club today.

Speaking about the 24 year old, Antonio Conte said.

‘He’s very young and has a lot of space for improvement. He is very strong, good technique. He’s a good prospect but at the same time, it will be very important to understand, if the player signs, we must have patience to help him recover. Don’t forget he had a bad injury, a surgery and this player has not played for seven months.’

Confirmation of the deal could be in later tonight and having joined the club as an 11 year old back in 2005, he would depart having made 152 starting appearances, with a further 37 from the substitutes bench.

Those games saw him return 27 goals.
