According to the Liverpool Echo, in connection to sources in Spain, Gerard Deulofeu will return to Barcelona in the summer as the Catalan club have decided to exercise a buy back clause they hold.

A successful loan at AC Milan for the second half of last season hasn’t altered Ronald Koeman’s view on Deulofeu, 23, and he’ll leave Goodison Park with Barcelona preparing to re-sign the Spanish international.

Reportedly, Barcelona last summer turned down a buy-back option on Deulofeu, who came through the system at Barca but struggled to make the breakthrough between 2011 and 2015, spending time on loan at Everton before his arrival in 2015.

Deulofeu, who would have cost Barcelona £6.3m under Luis Enrique 12 months ago, had he not declined, is a player new Barca boss Ernesto Valverde reportedly wants and will take up the chance to re-sign when the European U21 Championship finals in Poland have finished, earning Everton an increased £10.5m.

Another with a Barcelona background is Sandro Ramirez – who held talks with Everton last week.

Having reportedly seen off competition from Juventus, Sky Sports sources recently claimed Sandro was ‘on the brink’ of joining Everton for £5.25m after the Toffees activated his £5.25m buy-out clause at Malaga.

Currently Sandro, 21, is in action for Spain as a teammate to Deulofeu.
