Everton supporters on the social media channels are becoming increasingly split when it comes to the relative merits of youngster Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The 21-year-old former Sheffield United attacker was making his seventh appearance of the 2018/19 season for manager Marco Silva in the game at Goodison Park against Fulham last weekend.
Despite us taking our second win of the year with a far improved second-half showing that saw Gylfi Sigurdsson help himself to a brace either side of Cenk Tosun finding the back of the net in a 3-0 win, Calvert-Lewin clearly can’t do right for wrong in the eyes of some fans.
Poor half here. Get Calvert Lewin off for Bernard and put Richarlison up top. #efc

Calvert-Lewin offers nothing.

Calvert Lewin doesn’t do much for me

Really poor half. Fulham by far the better side. Bernard for Calvert Lewin (Championship player) and Lookman for the anonymous Walcott at half time for me #EFC

Calvert Lewin offers very little

Tosun scoring means we never have to see DCL again (hopefully)

Don’t wanna see DCL starting games again at any position’ bang average.

Now, it’s fair to say it wasn’t a great showing from the youngster and undoubtedly he’ll be disappointed with his own performance and contribution on the day as the standout moment from him was winning the penalty that Sigurdsson spooned.
With some of the above comments coming from within the game itself, I very much doubt he’d won anyone over prior to his substitution.
