Ancelotti touted to make move for £63m-rated star

|

According to Gazzetta dello Sport – via Sport Witness – Kalidou Koulibaly is of real interest to Carlo Ancelotti, who is weighing up a reunification with the central defender at Everton after their time at Napoli.

According to transfermarkt, the physically imposing centre-half is worth a cool £63m and, there can be no doubt of this, it would be some statement if the Blues could pull off such a move.

Rated as one of the best defenders in the world, Koulibaly has forged his reputation at Naples and did so under the Blues’ current manager.

Indeed, it seems, perhaps naturally, that Carlo Ancelotti wants to bring him to Merseyside with him all too aware of what he might be able to bring to the Blues’ squad.

Right move?

Yes

No

Of course, links are going to be rife with the boss’ vast links across Europe and some rumours involving top names are going to be wide of the mark, but we can probably safely assume that he’ll get the backing financially to help attract some great players in the summer window.

At the end of the day, the Blues now have a manager that can compete with the very best and he’ll be looking to ensure that his squad is up to that level as soon as possible.

Few can argue, then, that signing Koulibaly would be a good arrival – it would perhaps just depend on exactly how much the Blues would have to fork out to get him signed on the dotted line.
