The Blues have got a number of good young players on their books and it is exciting to see the progress some of them are making.

Tom Davies and Mason Holgate are probably the best examples of the bunch whilst the likes of Ademola Lookman and Jonjoe Kenny are not far from also getting more minutes.

As well as that, we’ve got some good players out on loan at the moment with Matthew Pennington one of those as he’s currently at Ipswich Town.

A young defender with plenty to offer, he’s with the Tractor Boys this season in the Championship but it seems as though he is wanting to play for us next year.

As quoted by TWTD, he said:

“I hope to go back to Everton a better player.

“That’s one thing I want to achieve as a result of going out on loan.”

He had a tough time at Leeds last season but still has quality and we’ve seen him play in blue already.

A good season at Portman Road, then, might just give him a chance next year.
