Everton welcomed newly-promoted Fulham to Goodison Park last weekend and after a poor opening 45 minute period, Marco Silva’s side found their gear to take a 3-0 victory with Gylfi Sigurdsson scoring a brace and Cenk Tosun getting on the scoresheet.
With a missed penalty on top, the day could’ve been slightly more enjoyable for the fans in attendance, but on-loan Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma certainly took praise following his individual showing.
Reacting to our second win of the Premier League season, the 23-year-old’s efforts definitely won some fans over as they took to social media following the match.
I thought Zouma was a collosus today

Thought zouma was great today, my man of the match. One of them games though that certain players would have been slaughtered for their performances if we hadn’t got the 3pts. I just love that every player works their socks off and look like they are buying into silvas way ????

I really hope we pay up for Zouma Given we get the chance. Him and Keane seem to be the perfect fit . Still pretty reserved about Mina

I hope we try and sign Zouma permanently in the next two windows. He’s already a very good player but he’s only going to improve.

With long-term defensive concerns at the club, the performance of Michael Keane and Zouma should definitely be considered a positive, as is keeping the clean sheet and everyone should take a boost of confidence from that, but if we can follow that up in tonight’s EFL Cup clash with Southampton and continue to show improvement we can possibly get our season really up and running next weekend against Leicester City.
