With a number of positives to come out of Wednesday evening’s EFL Cup second round clash with Rotherham United at Goodison Park, a number of Everton players came in for praise.
For a section of the fanbase as they took to social media to comment following the game, one man stood out and that was debutant Kurt Zouma.
Having come in as a late deadline day deal, but on loan, so there were no issues with how late the deal actually came through, he’s waited patiently for his crack at the first team for his full debut and the Chelsea man seized it with both hands in midweek.
Having cameoed against Bournemouth, he showed fans far more in terms of what he was capable of and given he’s still settling into the group he should only improve and that bodes well for the campaign ahead.

Many positives- the amount of kids in that ground, no drama, Digne, Kenny, Zouma, Sandro best game in blue and the Toffs in the draw tomorra. As regards our aims, all achieved. Move on to the next one. #GoodAsGold <

I'm a big fan of Zouma. Like him a lot. Watched him very closely.
Much like Walcott has been. Very impressive. Others I mentioned above looking very good form wise.

We played okay with a weakened side last night. Made up to see Davies captain and Zouma is a top draw player but this zonal defending is really scaring me, we will get punished against better teams! #efc

Yeah lad, Zouma bossed the back too I think, them to on the left hand side of the defence looked solid.
