Will Ronald Koeman see out the season, let alone his contract?

Growing speculation suggests Everton will replace Koeman and are, as far as weekend reports went, already drawing up a shortlist to replace the Dutchman with Newcastle’s former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez a ‘leading name’ in the frame.

Defeat at Brighton, this would have been the case but for Wayne Rooney’s late equaliser from the penalty spot, could, if not would, have happened at the Amex Stadium on Sunday and that might have cost him his job?

According to the Metro, which has the Sun as the source, Benitez could return to Merseyside as he’s ‘among the managers being considered’ by Farhad Moshiri.

These reports also went on to say the players are ‘convinced’ Koeman will be sacked…

I’m not sure what’s going wrong this season, perhaps Koeman’s tried to integrate too many players, some selected owing to the fees involved when signing for the Blues, but I still retain faith in him.

However, time is certainly running out but Benitez, 57, to replace him? Well, I’ve got serious doubts this will happen.
