Everton took a Gylfi Sigurdsson inspired 3-0 victory over Fulham at Goodison Park at the weekend.

With manager Marco Silva confirming that he made his feelings clear at the halftime break after our opening 45-minute showing, the players certainly took it on board and put in a significantly improved second-half showing.

Statistics website WhoScored obviously rated Sigurdsson as their star man and our best performer on the day as the 29-year-old hit a brace to ensure victory and even Cenk Tosun got himself on the scoresheet, so there were plenty of positives to take and we have to hope that is the proverbial corner turned now in the season of 2018/19.

Pulling in a rating of 9.27, Sigurdsson’s score from the match could well have been higher had he converted the penalty effort he had on the day. But it was our first win since August and our second Premier League win of the year lifting us up into eleventh place in the table, so all eyes to the next one now.
