4 strikers could leave, Brands eyeing replacements – Ancelotti overseeing Everton exodus

|

There could be an exodus of strikers at Everton this summer – Oumar Niasse, Sandro Ramirez, Cenk Tosun and Moise Kean. Marcel Brands wants to lower the average age of the squad and has been looking to replace ageing deadwood with young equivalents. It’s why Joe Hugill, Anthony Weston and Joe Gelhardt have been linked with Everton.

Carlo Ancelotti is also looking for tried and tested centre-forwards who can make an immediate impact next season too – Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard, Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik, Torino’s Andrea Belotti, Barcelona’s Martin Braithwaite and Napoli’s Hirving Lozano – but here’s the low-down on the players who may be on their way out of Goodison Park.

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

Oumar Niasse

The 29-year-old is expected to be the first player out the Everton door this summer, as his contract is up in the coming months and he’s been out of favour for some time.

Niasse has made 42 appearances in all competitions since joining from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2016, but he’s featured only four times in the Premier League since 2018 and hasn’t scored in the top-flight for 23 months.

Sandro Ramirez

The 24-year-old has one year remaining on his deal at Everton, but he’s been on the periphery for some time and would likely relish a permanent departure. Sandro has made 16 appearances in all competitions since joining Everton from Malaga in 2017, scoring one goal, but his last outing came in August 2018.

He’s been loaned out to Sevilla (January 30, 2018 – June 30, 2018), Real Sociedad (August 30, 2018 – June 30, 2019) and Real Valladolid (July 2, 2019 – present) in the last two years, but no acceptable bid has come Everton’s way. Valladolid are said to be weighing up an offer, however.

Cenk Tosun

The 28-year-old fell out of favour during the second half of last season and has been on the periphery this campaign. He was loaned out to Crystal Palace in January and is expected to be made available for sale this summer.

Tosun has made 51 appearances in all competitions since joining Everton for £20.25m in January 2018, scoring just 10 goals, so he’ll go down as an expensive flop.

Moise Kean

The 20-year-old has made 26 appearances in all competitions since joining Everton from Juventus last summer, scoring one goal, so his future at Goodison Park is uncertain.

Kean has been tipped to return to Italy after underperforming in his debut season. With Ancelotti being linked with Milik, Braithwaite, Lozano, Edouard and Belotti, are Everton planning to replace the Italian international?
