Everton welcomed Watford to Goodison Park on Saturday for our second Premier League clash of the year, and whilst there were certainly positives for manager Marco Silva, the game can’t be described as a classic.

The game was our fifth straight home win stretching back to the defeat against Manchester City last February, and Bernard’s tenth minute strike was enough to secure all three points from a 1-0 victory on the day.

Although the visitors had slightly more of the ball, we had the greater chances on the day but both sides were limited to only two shots on target each.

Statistics website Whoscored were very positive in their player ratings from the day, and 26-year-old Bernard understandably took their star man award with a score of 8.65.

Completing the top five best performers in their system were Lucas Digne (7.98), Yerry Mina (7.62), Michael Keane (7.41) and Jean-Philippe Gbamin (7.25).

England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford also picked up a seven rating for his performance between the sticks.
