2 Shots, 3 Dribbles Takes Everton Newbie To MotM On A Disappointing Night

|

It’s been a steady start to the season for Everton, but in Friday evening’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa, we came unstuck, despite better controlling the game.

Manager Marco Silva was left ruing the fact we couldn’t take our chances against Everton as we better controlled the opener to the year, and it was a similar story against Watford – albeit we took the win 1-0. Last night’s action at Villa Park was a similar story as we suffered a 2-0 defeat, despite having more possession and greater efforts at goal.

Our problem was from 12 shots, only one tested their goalkeeper.

Statistics website Whoscored understandably scored us badly as we cost ourselves, but summer signing Alex Iwobi did impress to take their Man of the Match with a rating of 7.02.

Completing the top five on day were Morgan Schneiderlin (6.88), Richarlison (6.83), Lucas Digne (6.68) and Seamus Coleman (6.62).

Dust ourselves down and be better is the only thing we can take from the match.
