Everton make contact with former Villareal manager

|

Everton have made contact with former Villareal, Valencia and Atletic Bilbao manager Marcelino Garcia over a potential move to Goodison Park after the club’s sacking of Frank Lampard, according to recent reports

Frank Lampard was appointed Everton manager almost a year ago, joining the club on the 31st of January last season.

However, due to a recent lack of form and his side currently sitting in a very difficult position in the Premier League, the Everton hierarchy decided to part ways with the Englishman.

Director of Football Kevin Thelwell reportedly has the task of creating a list of potential suiters for the Everton job and they look to have found a potential replacement already.

According to Marca, Everton have made contact with Spanish manager Marcelino Garcia over a potential switch to Goodison Park in the coming days.

Garcia has spent all of his managerial career in Spain, starting his career with Lealtad before moving to Sporting Gijon.

Since then, he has had spells at Sevilla, Villareal, Valencia and most recently Atletic Bilbao.

He has won the Copa Del Ray and the Supercopa Del Espana with Athletic Bilbao in recent years, as well as winning La Liga’s best coach award during the 2017-18 season after helping his Valencia side to a 4th-place finish and a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Should Everton appoint Marcelino Garcia?

Dyche is a good manager, he has a strong personality and is a good leader. This is what we need now, a disciplined team with a solid performance.
Yes, his play is somehow boring, but right now we need to stay up. So, that’s what matters now.
