Everton duo ABSENT from training at Finch Farm today amid transfer speculation

|

Everton duo Amadou Onana and Anthony Gordon are absent from today’s training session at Finch Farm amid links that the pair could be on the move during the window, according to recent reports.

The toffees have been very inactive so far this transfer window, with only a few loans and the permanent sale of Nathan Broadhead to speak about.

However, with the end of the window fast approaching, we could see Everton’s transfer business start to pick up pace.

Reports yesterday suggested that Chelsea were considering making a move for Everton duo Anthony Gordon and Amadou Onana before the end of the window. This potential deal has been further escalated thanks to recent reports.

According to Sky Sports News, Amadou Onana and Anthony Gordon were both not present for today’s training session at Finch Farm which was overseen by Paul Tait and Leighton Baines.

Although the pair are both still 21 years of age, they have both had very different Everton careers so far.

Anthony Gordon broke into the first team at Everton under Carlo Ancelotti in 2021.

Despite being seen as one of the club’s best academy prospects of recent years, he has failed to impress this season, with just 3 goals in 16 Premier League appearances.

Amadou Onana, however, joined the toffees at the start of the season from LOSC Lille for a fee reported to be around £33 million.

Since making the switch to Goodison Park, he has been one of Everton’s star performers. He even scored his first goal for the club in their 2-1 loss to Southampton last weekend. He would definitely be a huge miss for the blues if he were to depart.
